Six Eighths Make a Half

 The first half of 8th Cuirassiers is complete (or at least they will be when the varnish dries).

A cavalcade of cuirassiers

Nansouty is just a little too sticky to mount on his horse, so he'll be appearing next week.

So, what do you think? Should I press on with the second squadron, or take a break and have a crack at some gunners?

    Those are superb Matthew, the yellow is very vibrant. I say push on and complete the unit!

    From a purely selfish viewpoint I'd say finish the cuirassiers every time as cuirassiers should always be seen en masse. But in reality it depends on how far you've got with the others - if over half way then I'd say stick with it, otherwise take a break and do some gunners. I know I'm going to enjoy doing some gunners after these pesky Light Dragoons, they're more like Christmas trees festooned with cords, flounders, snapsacks, canteens, carbine belts and god knows what!

    BTW the guy on the left in the back rank - is that reflected flash or does his sword hilt need touching up?

      Hard to say, Rob. It'll have to wait until the morning. I can't bare to look a them again this evening!

      Squadron 2 is very far from halfway, but maintaining the momentum might be the better plan.

    ersonally, if I stop half way through somehing it may be months or years before I get back to it - distractions get in the way... so of course I have to say 'finish the cuirassiers'!

    I say press on with the next squadron. What will the Emperor say if in your next game the French lose due to the lack of heavy cavalry.

      I'm more worried about what he'll say if he loses despite having loads of heavy cavalry. Those Estorff Hussars give me the fear, Mark.

    I have to disagree with the above. Painting is a joy, so why force it? Switch to the gunners and find the joy again. By the time you finish the artillery, these lovely cuirassiers will have crept into your soul, you will realize how kick ass they are, and that you want to paint more of them!
