No I didn’t see... but now I do. We may see our toys as innocent play things but I think everyone else sees us as a bit weird. Merry Christmas, although I guess it’s drawing to a close for you now?
I´ve got a bit of a "Thing" with socks..I´ve got over 60 pairs in "way out" colours but unfortunately, nothing like those. Bamboozld..I´ll look em up. Merry X-mas...a bit belated as I know from a relly where you are...it´s near enough over.
Merry Christmas WM. I confess that I read your post heading as "matching socks", which I thought was quite significant, since it's a constant problem of mine - however, my error - the featured socks are splendid - very nice. I sincerely hope the 1955 NZ battledress has the right manufacturer labels - these things matter. My son has just gone back to wearing last year's school blazer, which is now too small, because his new one is embarrassingly smart.
I have explained to him that there are people relying on food banks, and that some families in the Third World are so poor they have to brush their teeth manually. He is unmoved. The cell phone tells him what to do. All hail.
The battledress is the real thing alright - although it is amazingly small, which is why it fits WG so well. I had no idea that Kiwis were so miniscule in 1955. Lack of growth hormones in the mutton, probably.
Wonderful socks! Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,
Stokes
Merry Christmas, Stokes.
DeleteHer real present, of course, was a phone.
*sigh*. The end of innocence.

It is indeed. We've reached the terrible Christmas movie stage, sitting round the telly in a cloud of hazy, champagne-induced blessedness.
DeleteWG loves her battledress. She's wearing it right now! It's all-girls school she's going to. Terrifying!

Merry Christmas, Paul. As my sons have the same foot size as me socks are always in terribly short supply in the Wellington household!

DeleteFrom my point of view... Kiwis aren’t small... they are just further away... ;-)
DeleteHave a great Xmas...
All the best. Aly
*Laughter*. Cheers Aky!
DeleteAll the best to you and yours
ReplyDeleteCheers, Tony. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
DeleteWonderful socks! And a very Merry Christmas to you.
ReplyDeleteCheers Mark. Merry Christmas to you and yours also.
DeletePerhaps she is sending you a message to 'pull your socks up' and get on with finishing those Lammings.
ReplyDeleteI got some paint brushes from my kids. Which is perhaps their way of telling me to finish some British Lifeguards that I am struggling with.
She is indeed, Mark, as she really wants me to paint more cavalry.
DeleteLifeguards...they'll go swimmingly, honest.
Well done Wellington Girl! As thoughtful a gift as I have ever seen! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteWG's razor-sharp wit gives me joy every day, David, especially when it's aimed at me!
DeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours.
